Banners for MIF

Plastic Shed are community organisation dedicated to repurposing non-recyclable plastics into new, useful and beautiful objects. I was contacted by them to help them deliver a commission from Manchester International Festival for their "Looking forward to tomorrow" project.

We were asked to create a selection of banners with key phrase and words on their subjects Equality and the Environment.

Each of these banners were made from recycled vinyl banners that were donated to Plastic Shed from various other companies. Vinyl is not a friendly material to the environment and can not be easily recycled, usually resulting in the items being burned and releasing a whole bunch of toxic chemicals. Projects like this extend the usefulness of the materials and give them new life!
